The MERLIN PROJECT family of kayaks utilizes an exciting, recently patented material
we call "CARBONLITE 2000 (tm)", a Thermoplastic Alloy which combines properties
of high impact strength, high dimensional stability, stiffness, repair-ability, lightweight and high gloss. It is extremely ultraviolet resistant with high longevity. Carbonlite 2000 can be recycled and lends itself to designs previously only available to composite (fiberglass) kayak manufacturers.Modulus Modulus Composite construction consist of a unique marriage between high strength thermoplastics and Kevlar/ glass vacuum bagged lamination. The result is a lighter, stronger construction than either carbonlite 2000 or fiberglass, without gelcoat. Modulus Technology is a breakthrough in kayak construction. |
