From your first paddle to fine-tuning your technique

Good technique makes kayaking safer, easier, and a whole lot more fun. Whether you've never held a paddle or you're ready to level up, there's a class for you — taught on the water by an experienced instructor.

Beginner

Kayak Starter

$69 / person
2 hours on the water

Our foundations class for brand-new paddlers. In two hours on the water you’ll learn efficient forward paddling, turning, reverse paddling and stopping, how to stay stable and prevent a capsize, and how to lift, launch, and land your kayak — everything you need for easy, skillful paddling in calm conditions.

Intermediate

Intermediate Kayak Skills

$79 / person
2–2.5 hours

Already comfortable in a kayak? Sharpen your technique. We refine your forward and turning strokes, add low and high braces to keep you upright in wind and chop, and work on efficient boat control so longer paddles feel effortless.

Paddling class questions

Not at all. The Kayak Starter class assumes you’ve never paddled before and builds your skills from the very first stroke. If you’re already comfortable on the water, the Intermediate class or a private lesson will meet you where you are.
